Are you and your family prepared for an emergency in Glenwood?
Ready Glenwood is a Neighborhood Response Group (NRG), started in 2015. We follow the guidelines established by Ready Marin and collaborate with other nearby NRGs — organizing meetings, collecting shared information, reaching out to new neighbors, and taking part in preparedness training.
When disaster strikes, neighbors turn to neighbors. The most important step you can take to get through a time of stress or crisis is to connect — neighbors who know each other help each other when there’s a need. Ready Glenwood has been recognized as a leader in Marin County, with other neighborhoods reaching out to us for advice on how to build a program like ours.
We collect and organize resident names and contacts, so we know who needs to be accounted for — including who may need extra assistance, who has special skills or equipment to offer, and which households have pets.
We send community members to regular trainings, including CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), so Glenwood has trained volunteers ready to help.
From our Evacuation Drill to sessions like “One Hour 2 Get Ready” and Disaster First Aid, we keep the neighborhood practiced and prepared.
We work with the City, County, Firesafe Marin, Friends of China Camp, and Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority to maintain defensible space. Glenwood is a Firewise community and renews its recognition annually.

After a major disaster, first responders will be overwhelmed. CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a free, FEMA-supported program that teaches you to care for yourself, your family, and your community until help arrives.
